Light & Shadow Observations

The daytime photo was taken on Saturday January 8, 2022 at 1:50 pm of my  workstation by my room window at the dorms at 100 Midtown. My window faces west. At this time the sun is just after its highest time, however it’s direct sunlight to my window is blocked by various tall buildings. The light is more saturated on the walls inside my room, especially the walls surrounding the window; and shadows fall heavily in the corner or crease between the walls. Light is also reflected  onto the tables and some things on the tables have heavy shadows and that’s because  it’s not facing the light. Under the table is a heavy or thick shadow because the light is not reaching to that level.

The night time photo was taken on the same day at around 6:43pm on Saturday January 8, 2022. At this time it is dark outside so the artificial light was turned on in my room. There is only one light source in my room and the reflection can be seen in the glass window. The light source is not on the ceiling, but on the wall. It’s a big circular wall lamp at the top center of that wall. Because the light source is now inside the room, the walls are more saturated from the light and more light can be seen on the objects of the tables and chair. However, because of the angle of the wall lamp you can’t really see much objects under the tables.
